So it has been a long time since my last update, 6 months to be exact. So since January not a whole lot has changed with us but we have done some fun things. The kids are growing so fast I can hardly keep up with them. But we enjoy everyday watching the kids grow and learn.
So since January we have been on a few vacations and Sophie turned 2 at the end of February and Ethan graduated from preschool. So Lets go month by month and I will share the perfect days we have had in these last 6 months.
February- Like I said before Sophie turned 2 her birthday is leap day so she didn't have an actual birthday this year but we celebrated on the 28th. She got a lot of cute clothes and toys. Her newest obsession is Barbie so that is new to us having a boy that is older. I don't even know where she learned about Barbie's. I guess it is a girl thing.
Oh and my Birthday is in February too and that was a perfect day we took the kids to see Princess and the Frog and went to dinner. So February was a good month for our family.
March- Well I don't think we did much in the month of March that was out of the norm but I am sure it was a fun month...
April- We had an eventful month in April we went on a little vacation we took the kids to Mesquite for a few days. We drove into Vegas and went to Circus Circus the kids thought it was great. We also hiked around Valley of Fire State park. Ethan did a little climbing and thought that was Awesome. Then we stayed in St George for a few days and went to Snow Canyon and Zion National park. Luckily the day we went to Zion was Earth day so we got in for free so that was a bonus. It was a really great vacation and it was nice having some family time. While we were on vacation Ethan said mom I know what vacation is and asked what is it and he said "it is a special time with your family when mom and dad don't work and we are together having fun." Ethan was right it was a special time and we did have a lot of fun!
Over Easter weekend we went to Bear lake with Don and Michelle it has become a sort of tradition the past few years. It was a lot of fun and probably the only Easter ever that I went sledding. Don and Michelle were very generous to us all that weekend and we had such a good time. We went sledding, we sat in the hot pools in Lava and the Easter bunnies (Don and Michelle) left big baskets for all of the kids with a ton of treats and toys. And we even had an Easter egg hunt in the snow. And to top it off a great Easter dinner.
May- We had a great month of May. We went to Park City with my family it was unseasonably cold and snowy but we still had a great time at the pool and playing games. We even got my dad playing Rock Band. It was a great little vacation
Mother's day was awesome as well Shaun spoiled me with plants for our garden and roses and breakfast in bed. Then that night we had a party at my sisters house and gave gifts to my mom and watched a movie I put together for her. It was a perfect day!
Another great thing in May is my brother Caleb started dating a really cute girl, Trisha. Who I actually have known since 2nd grade. We even made up a dance together when we were little and did it for a talent show for our class. I am so glad they found each other and it has been great having her around theses past few months.
June- We had some pool days but June was a little cold for June but we had some really good days. Father's day was nice I spoke in church that day and it was nice to be able to talk about my dad and Shaun and show my appreciation for them both. The down side to Father's day is everyone got the stomach flu and we were sick for a week so we had to postpone doing anything for a bit. But once we did get together it was a lot of fun! We did have a bad day in June, Sophie dislocated her thumb and we ended up going to Primarys and she has had a little cast on her hand for 5 weeks now. We are hoping that she won't have to have surgery but we will know that in a few weeks. I had a few girls night out in June which were a lot of fun. One was for my friends birthday we went to dinner and walked around gardener village and went out for ice cream. Then on the 30th I went to Eclipse with a few friends and it was awesome!!! Yes I am one of those and I don't care I enjoyed it.
July (so far) We have had a lot of "perfect" days this summer as you can see. But July has been especially fun! We have had a lot of days in the backyard playing on the slip and slide and the kiddie pool. This has been the first year that we have really used our backyard a lot. And it has been a lot of fun.
The weekend of the 4th was a lot of fun we had a BBQ with some friends on that Saturday and it was a great night. The kids all played so well together and we were able to talk with the adults without the kids pulling at us. It was really fun to watch all of the kids together especially during the fireworks. And on Sunday the 4th we had a BBQ at my sisters house. My parents were in Canada and my brother was out of town with his girlfriends family. So it was just the 3 sisters and our little families. It was a lot of fun though, more fireworks and fun!
On July 6 it was my work Lagoon day and this was a perfect day the weather was perfect 80 degrees and sunny, and it wasn't too crowded. The kids were so well behaved no fighting or crying. Ethan was even tall enough for the Bat roller coaster and he went on that a few times and loved it! I bet next year he will be tall enough for most of the rides. We stayed all day 11:30 till they closed the kids were so tired. Sophie got a second wind though and was singing and laughing the whole way home it was so funny! I wish I could relive that day it really was great!
I just had to focus on all of our great days we have because I have been reminded lately that things can change all too quickly. So we need to live everyday to it's fullest and have perfect days. Not because we are always on vacation or spending money or on some beach somewhere. But because we have people who love us and who are here with us enjoying life! The simple things matter the most! A few weeks ago a cousin of mine who's children are 18 and older and are all moving out of state said something to me that hit me hard. She said she didn't realize it at the time but she already had the happiest parts of her life. And that is when she had little kids that were giggling and happy and no worries in the world. And that is where I am right now I have an almost 5 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old and they are wonderful! They are so sweet and don't have a care in the world and don't have any adult problems yet. So I know these are the happiest times of my life and they are happy because of my beautiful children and my wonderful husband. I am blessed!

HOLIDAYS AND SUCH!
Well it has been almost 3 months since our last post so I guess it is time. Since the last post there has been some Holidays. So if I can think back that far I will fill you in on how those all went.
Halloween was Fun we did a lot of fun things we had a sleep over with my family the night before Halloween. My mom was so cute she planned all sorts of activities. The kids wrapped the dads in toilet paper like mummies, Shaun and Matt looked so funny. Then we played pass the pumpkin (like musical chairs) the little boys laughed so hard they actually peed their pants. It was pretty funny. Ethan was Optimus Prime for Halloween and Sophie was a kangaroo she looked so cute.
Thanksgiving was really nice, Shaun's dad spent the Holiday at his cabin in Bear Lake so we celebrated with the Greene's the Sunday before which was nice. Then on Thanksgiving we went to a movie we saw A Christmas Carol which was really good and we were very surprised at how well the kids did at the movie. Then we had a delicious dinner at my parent's house. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving. And on black friday I stood in line at Kohls at 3:30 A.M. with a friend so I could get a Dyson vacuum at a good deal which I did then we hit the mall, Target, Old Navy, Roberts, and Walmart. We even ran into another friend at Roberts so we went to Breakfast. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of great deals.
Christmas was wonderful as well we did a whole lot of celebrating. The first party of the year was our own. We had an ugly Christmas Sweater party which was so much fun. And to those of you who missed it last year we hope you plan on it next year because we are going to make it a tradition. So many ugly sweaters and good food and fun friends it was a blast. Except for the part where I dumped a plate of food on my friend on accident ooops. At least she was wearing an ugly sweater... We also had a ward party, a Greene family party and some work parties it was exhausting but fun. Then on Christmas eve we had Jennifer and her family and Ryan and his over for brunch and to exchange gifts it was a lot of fun. Then later that day we went sledding with the kids and I was amazed at Ethan's bravery as he raced down the hill on his stomach all by himself. And Sophie went down by herself as well.
On Christmas eve night we had the traditional Soup and breadsticks at my moms and did some gift exchanges it was a good night. Then on Christmas morning the kids had a wonderful Christmas, Santa brought some great things the favorite being a kitchen. The kids were very happy and so were mom and dad. Shaun got Band Hero for the wii and a gift card to buy wood for his climbing wall. And I got a movie and Wii Resort Sports which is a blast. It was a good Christmas.
Christmas day we spent all day at my mom and dads they gave us new bedding which is beautiful and I love it. Shaun had fun playing wii with Caleb and I had fun watching family home movies from when I was little. It was wonderful Christmas.
New Years Eve was a blast we got together with some friends at Harmony and Jared's for some yummy food and lots of laughs. It was a great time and Ethan slept through all of the excitement.
We have been very blessed this past year and hope that 2010 will bring us good health and many more blessings. I was disappointed to be released from my calling as 1st counselor in the Primary presidency. I had been in there for 3 years so I guess it was time. I am sure I will love the new calling I get as well.
So that is the news on the Greene's for now. We hope you all are happy and well and that 2010 finds you happy and healthy!
